Historhy Next project’s goal is to develop and industrialize two new generations of carbon fiber gaseous hydrogen tanks and liquid hydrogen storage. The project will include accelerating development of more sustainable tanks focusing on the use of low-carbon materials and recyclability and cryogenic technology. The scope of this project is hydrogen mobility and distribution & transportation.

In order to match with current diesel and gasoline solutions in terms of TCO, HistorHy Next project ambitions to slash the price of H2 storage for mobility and distribution applications as well as to boost the scaling up of the market.
So, the major goals of the project are to pioneer new technologies for both Hydrogen storage and manufacturing and to implement their industrialization.

R&D activities will be managed at our Global Center of Expertise for Hydrogen in Bavans where the teams lead design and manufacturing activities.
The industrialization phase will happen at Allenjoie plant, which is Faurecia’s first hydrogen storage mass-production plant (site certified BREEAM©, level Excellence).
First generation is scheduled for 2024. Next generations will follow in 2026 & 2027.
