Workstream 1 focuses on research, development, and innovation (R&D&I) and First Industrial Deployment (FID) activities targeting various mobility and transport applications. This includes the road, rail, maritime, and air sectors. WS1 adopts a holistic perspective, considering all components necessary for hydrogen-powered mobility and transport applications, beyond fuel cells and tanks, and aims to enable cross-application synergies through dedicated cooperation.

The main objectives of Workstream 1 are:

• Develop innovative hydrogen-powered applications and ammonia-derived hydrogen-fuelled shipping solutions, along with interoperable components and successful system integration.

• Develop and integrate innovative auxiliary components for substantial improvement of the propulsion system, especially for dynamic response under various environmental conditions in road, rail, maritime, and aeronautical applications.

• Develop reliable, maintainable, and safe hydrogen mobility and transport applications and their components and implement predictive maintenance and safety concepts.

• Develop innovative methods to produce the next generation of hydrogen mobility and transport applications and their components.
